This book features original essays on three central themes in Kantian and post-Kantian philosophy: sensibility, nature, and religion. Half of the essays focus specifically on Kant's philosophy and have an interpretive focus. They aim to disentangle complex exegetical knots that emerge in the interpretation of Kant's own views of the character of sensibility, the unity of nature, and the constitution of symbolic representation in religion. The other chapters explore the interactions that arise, in these three thematic areas, between Kantian and post-Kantian philosophy. These chapters engage with the work of prominent Continental philosophers such as Hannah Arendt, Jacques Derrida, Luce Irigaray, and Jean-François Lyotard. As a whole, Kant and the Continental Tradition advances our understanding of Kant's critical thought, its relation to key Continental thinkers, and the relevance of Kantian philosophy to current debates in post-Kantian philosophy.
